Pet insurance literally saved my dog's life - not exaggerating

I never post but I had to share this. My 6 year old german shepherd was diagnosed with cancer in October. Without treatment she had maybe 2 months. With treatment (chemo + surgery) shes expected to make a full recovery but the total cost is going to be around $15,000. I've had insurance since she was a puppy "just in case" and honestly sometimes wondered if I was wasting money. NOPE. My insurance is covering 90% of everything. I would have had to put her down without it because theres no way I could afford $15k out of pocket. Please please please get insurance for your pets. You never think youre gonna need it until you desperately do.

This made me tear up. So glad she's going to be ok!!! GSDs are the best dogs and they deserve every chance. Which insurance do you have?

Nationwide. Been with them for 6 years now. Monthly payment is $78 but considering they're paying out over $13k... yeah. Best money I've ever spent

I work in a vet oncology clinic and I see this all the time. The families with insurance can focus on getting their pet better. The families without have to make impossible financial decisions on top of an already devastating diagnosis. Insurance isn't just about money - its about having OPTIONS when it matters most.

this is such a good point about having options. never thought about it that way
